Meet your pediatric dentist
Dr. Van Tang
Dr. Van Tang is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with a passion for making dental visits fun, uplifting, and fear-free for kids. Born and raised in Vietnam, Dr. Tang and her family immigrated to the United States, where she fell in love with California and planted the roots of her dental dreams. Her own childhood dental experiences—some of which involved being too scared to sit in the chair—fueled her desire to create something different: a place where kids feel safe, seen, and celebrated at every visit.
Dr. Tang began her journey in healthcare at the University of Houston, earning a degree in Biology with a minor in Public Health. She went on to receive her dental education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine, followed by a general practice residency at UNLV. She completed her advanced specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Today, she’s proud to be affiliated with AAPD, CSPD, ADA, CDA, and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Her approach is rooted in clinical excellence and patient connection. She loves getting to know each family and dedicates a full hour for new patient exams to ensure comfort, understanding, and personalized care. Whether it’s placing tooth-colored zirconia crowns or helping an anxious child feel brave, Dr. Tang brings warmth and skill to every appointment.
One of her favorite parts of pediatric dentistry is being able to restore confidence in little smiles—especially through esthetic treatments like anterior zirconia crowns under general anesthesia when appropriate. She also offers cosmetic restorations for posterior teeth and is excited to introduce services like frenectomies in the near future for holistic, airway-aware care.
Outside the office, Dr. Tang loves traveling, hiking, camping, and paddle boarding with her husband and son. Creating joyful memories with her family mirrors the joyful experiences she hopes to create for yours at Pebble & Pearl Pediatric Dentistry.

What to expect on your child’s first visit
Your child’s first visit is all about building trust, feeling safe, and having fun. We take the time to get to know your family, answer any questions, and provide a gentle, informative introduction to dental care. Our calm, modern environment—with playful touches for kids—helps even the most nervous patients feel comfortable and cared for.
The experience
From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice the bright, joyful energy of our office. Kids can relax with Netflix in our treatment areas or play in our dedicated space just for them. We take a full hour with new patients to go over dental and medical histories, perform a gentle exam, and offer same-day preventive treatments when possible to make the visit as efficient and stress-free as it is fun.

Completed new patient paperwork (digitally or printed)
Insurance information (if applicable)
Valid ID for the parent or guardian
Your child’s favorite toy or comfort item—just in case!

With TVs in the waiting area, operatories, and open bay—plus Netflix streaming and a kids’ play area—your child will find plenty of fun distractions during their visit. We also offer iPads for digital check-in to make your appointment even smoother.

Pebble & Pearl Pediatric Dentistry is proud to support SoCal Sea Turtles, a local nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and protecting this endangered species. By partnering with an organization that cares for our coastline and our environment, we hope to inspire families and children to learn about conservation and the importance of protecting our natural world. Dr. Van Tang is passionate about giving back—whether through community outreach, inclusive dental care for all families (including those with Medicaid), or supporting causes that make a meaningful difference in the Eastlake and Chula Vista communities.
